What skills and experience we're looking for

“Where past experiences do not define our future potential”

We are moving to a brand-new school building. We are relocating to Peckham.

We are expanding our provision and need to grow our team.

Are you a confident, capable and experienced class teacher?

Someone who feels passionate about SEMH and exploring the behaviours that a child may be trying to communicate?

Maybe you are someone who wishes to work in an aspirational, therapeutic school where no two days are the same?

Our school:

Beormund Primary is an outstanding specialist provision supporting children with complex social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). Children often arrive disillusioned, disengaged and with a dissociation to school and learning and so are met each day with warmth, kindness, clear boundaries and high expectations. Our aim is to nurture their curiosity, improve their self-confidence so that they feel safe and secure to take risks, make mistakes and continually learn. Our aim is for all children to make significant progress relative to their starting point – academically, emotionally and socially.

We are a school filled with bright, articulate and talented children who all have an Education, Health Care Plan (EHCP). Our children have a plethora of needs, many have Adverse Childhood Experiences which shapes the way they see and respond to the world.

The role:

We’re looking for someone who

  • has experience or a strong interest in SEMH and behaviours
  • has secure knowledge of the national curriculum – and are aspirational
  • has the ability to plan fun, engaging lessons for a range of needs, levels and interests
  • has emotional intelligence, is patient and kind
  • has excellent communication skills
  • can manage behaviour positively and consistently
  • can confidently lead and manage support staff
  • can coordinate a subject area

What the school offers its staff

What we offer as a school:
