Full time: Monday to Friday 32.5 hours per week. There are two vacancies: Post 1 is as a year 3 class teacher (5 days per week). Post 2 is Yr 2 class teacher (2 days per week) plus PPA cover (Reception to Yr 6) 3 days per week.

One post for a year 3 class teacher and the other post to cover 3 days of PPA (Reception - Yr 6) and 2 days as Year 2 class teacher.

Role Purpose

To deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that inspire, challenge, and support pupils in achieving their full potential across the primary curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and Teaching: Design and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners, following the national curriculum.

  • Assessment and Progress: Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing timely feedback and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.

  • Classroom Management: Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that promotes respect, curiosity, and independence.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of pupil achievement, behaviour, and attendance.

  • Parent and Community Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents/carers and contribute to the wider school community.

  • Professional Development: Participate in training, staff meetings, and school initiatives to continuously improve practice.

Person Specification

Desirable Criteria:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Education or relevant subject

  • Experience: Experience with SEND or EAL pupils

  • Knowledge: Knowledge of current educational research and pedagogy

  • Skills: Ability to integrate technology into teaching

  • Personal qualities: Passionate about outdoor learning or creative arts

  • Commitment: Willingness to lead extracurricular activities

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience: Experience teaching in a primary setting

  • Knowledge: Experience teaching in a primary setting

  • Skills: Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills

  • Personal qualities: Enthusiastic, resilient, reflective, and child-centred

  • Commitment: Dedicated to inclusive education and continuous improvement
