Andoversford Primary School is an inclusive, friendly, 4-class primary school, located at the heart of the village of Andoversford, six miles east of Cheltenham. We are fortunate to have extensive grounds, including a large sports field, outdoor classroom and dedicated Forest School area. At Andoversford, we believe that the key to creating successful learners is an engaging, innovative curriculum, therefore we have adopted a thematic approach which includes ‘hands-on’ experiences. We are dedicated to educating the whole child, and ensure that opportunities to develop independence, ensure a healthy lifestyle (both physically and mentally) promote critical thinking and to explore their passions are available to our pupils. It is very important that we create successful and respectful citizens who will thrive in their future lives.
Academic performance is strong at Andoversford, and we are committed to getting the best from our pupils. Over the last few years we have been part of a GLOWMaths project to embed mastery teaching in maths and we are very proud of the way our pupils use journaling to support their learning. We are keen readers, and have our own school library which is frequently restocked with new books that celebrate the diversity we see in the world around us. Our curriculum includes partnership working with the community – at the moment our nursery and reception pupils are working with the team at Move More to develop their balance and ride a bike! It is a fantastic opportunity!
