What skills and experience we're looking for

Woodford Primary School are currently looking for a dedicated Class Teacher to join their team. We are looking for a highly effective Teacher to become part of our excellent, hardworking and creative team who can contribute to our commitment to providing exceptional teaching and learning experiences. This post is suitable for both experienced teachers or newly qualified teachers.

Our Curriculum and the way in which we deliver it, instils a passion for learning in all our pupils and equips them for successful lives beyond our gates. Our Curriculum is intended to teach children the essential knowledge they need in all subject areas and to equip them for successful lives beyond our walls, opening doors to the future of their choice –whatever that may be! Our ambition is for all pupils to develop a full appreciation of the world in which they are growing up and to feel a sense of awe and wonder about the vastness of human creativity and achievement. We recognise that academic achievement alone is not enough and provide a progressive Enrichment Curriculum as well as an ambitious Academic Curriculum. Both are underpinned by our school mission to -Dream Big, Fly High!

What the school offers its staff

Woodford Primary School opened in September 2022, initially providing 30 Reception places and 20 Pre-School places with a further Pre-School and Reception class added each academic year, until we become a thriving one form entry primary school – from Pre-School to Year Six – in September 2028. We currently have Pre-School to Year 2 pupils on roll.

Located at the heart of the Woodford Garden Village, our intention is for Woodford Primary to serve its local community. We are an inclusive, non-selective, non-denominational school where all pupils can thrive, regardless of their background or circumstance.

Pupils are encouraged to ‘Dream Big’ so they can ‘Fly High’. They are taught about the school’s heritage of flight and aviation in an environment where they feel safe and secure, valued and cared for. School is an enjoyable and exciting place where all Woodford Primary pupils flourish and succeed because they are taught to believe that the sky is the limit!

We go above and beyond to ensure that all pupils benefit from a curriculum that goes well beyond statutory requirements and equips them to make a positive contribution to their local and global community, now and in the future.

As a Trust, we understand the vital importance of an outstanding Early Years’ experience in making sure that every pupil gets off to a flying start. We treat every child as an individual and we provide just the right amount of challenge and support for them to fulfil their potential. Happy children make the best learners so the personal development of pupils is central to everything we do.

At Woodford Primary, as in each Laurus Trust school, our ethos derives from a firm belief that all pupils are entitled to an outstanding state education, incorporating learning and enrichment opportunities that rival those offered in the best private schools. We are unwavering in our belief that all pupils should have high aspirations for their future and never be disadvantaged by their circumstances.
