Our school is a successful one, with motivated teachers and learners. Pupils achieve well in our school, greatly exceeding national expectations because of the drive that we have for all of our pupils to reach their full potential. Our SATS results from 2022-2023 saw a KS2 combined outcome of 89%, which is 30% above the national average.
We had a very successful Ofsted in January, 2023 with gradings of Outstanding for our children’s Behaviour and Attitudes and their Personal Development, with an overall grading of Good with our pupils commenting: ‘Everyone knows we should treat people how we want to be treated.’ The report noted that “Ruskin Academy is a school where pupils flourish’ Our children are well-behaved and always aspire to be the best versions of themselves.
Attendance in our school is excellent, again driven by our children’s attitudes to learning and the drive of our staff to ensure that children attend regularly. Our parents are supportive and care greatly for the outcomes of their children. Learning behaviours are good and our children show much respect to their peers.
We welcome teachers to join our fantastic school who are committed to be as effective as they can be for our children. Successful candidates will be resilient, hardworking and willing to go the extra mile to ensure that our provision is 'Good or better, everyday'.
We pride ourselves on being a caring and supportive employer with dedicated career development pathways.
We are forward-thinking, caring and most important of all, a happy school where pupils of all abilities and social backgrounds achieve. Our children are at the heart of everything we do and all the decisions we make.
We are proud to be a part of Lion Academy Trust and have been since September 2018. We are continually striving to be the best we can be.
