Class Teacher job summary
Dunton CofE Junior School is a small, friendly village school located around three miles from Biggleswade. We are federated with Wrestlingworth CofE Infant School, and both schools were rated ‘GOOD’ by OFSTED in December 2023.
We are currently in an exciting phase of development, having transitioned to a split-site primary school in September 2024 as part of Central Bedfordshire Council’s Schools for the Future project. Wrestlingworth is now the only infant school in Central Bedfordshire, providing for children from Reception to Year 2. Pupils then move on to Dunton Junior School for Years 3 to 6.
With many positive and exciting changes ahead, we are seeking a committed and enthusiastic team to support us on this journey. As the only junior school in Central Bedfordshire, Dunton offers a distinctive and rewarding environment. We are looking to appoint an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher to join our dedicated team, on a permanent, full time basis.
You will be:
- Dynamic, energetic, well organised and dedicated.
- Passionate about teaching and learning, with a clear vision and drive for improvement.
- Able to create and develop an enriching, interactive and stimulating learning environment.
- Able to teach knowledge driven and progressive lessons which motivate and engage.
- Interested in participating in new ideas and initiatives.
- Happy to contribute to the wider life of a small school.
- Able to model and promote the vision and values of our church schools
In return we can offer:
- A school that prides itself on the individual attention given to every child.
- A dedicated and supportive staff team passionate about the learning and progress of our children.
- A school full of friendly, enthusiastic learners.
- Strong values reflected in the ethos of the Federation.
- Collaborative working and professional development opportunities across the Federation.
- Opportunities to work closely with other schools in the local cluster.
- Parents that support their children's learning and the life of the school.
- Rural surroundings with a strong village community.
- A school that cares for the wellbeing of staff
