You matter to us.

Following the exciting promotion of one of our colleagues, we have a fantastic opportunity to join Spirit Federation - a vibrant, forward-thinking family of four schools at the heart of their communities: Paston Ridings, St John’s, Winyates and Barnack.

At Spirit, we believe that great schools are built on great people. With a strong sense of teamwork, both within and across our schools, we are committed to creating a culture where staff feel valued, supported and empowered to flourish, belong and make a difference every day.

We are looking for an inspiring and ambitious teacher to join Spirit Federation as our English Lead and Class Teacher. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about developing children's reading, writing and communication skills and is ready to make a difference beyond their own classroom.

Whether you are an experienced subject leader or an excellent classroom practitioner ready to take the next step into leadership, we would love to hear from you.

You won't be doing this alone. Collaboration, shared planning, coaching and professional development are at the heart of how we work across our federation.
Whether you are an experienced subject leader or not, we’re excited to hear from you.

Why join us?

🌟 A place to belong
An incredibly happy, supportive working environment with an exceptional ethos of care for pupils, staff and families.
🌟 Your growth matters
We will support you to develop your confidence, expertise and impact as both a teacher and a subject leader. With supportive senior leaders, opportunities to work collaboratively across our four schools, and access to high-quality professional development and coaching, you'll have the encouragement and guidance to flourish in your leadership role.
🌟 Make your mark
As English Lead, you'll play a key role in leading and developing the teaching of English, working alongside colleagues to strengthen provision in reading, writing and spoken language. You'll play an important role in supporting high-quality teaching, sharing effective practice and helping every child become a confident, enthusiastic reader and writer.
🌟 A thriving community
Our dream is to create opportunities for children and staff to think big, aim high and recognise their potential - knowing anything is possible. If you are someone who can make great things happen, we’d love to welcome you.

We are the right school and federation for you if:
  • You are an excellent classroom practitioner with a passion for teaching and learning.

  • You have strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for developing English across our federation.

  • You enjoy working collaboratively, sharing ideas and supporting colleagues to develop their practice.

  • You are ambitious, reflective and keen to develop your leadership skills.

  • You are committed to ensuring that every child, whatever their starting point, has the opportunity to succeed.

What we offer

  • A caring, supportive and joyful working environment.

  • A leadership team who are hands-on, present and invested in your success.

  • A supportive induction into both your teaching and subject leadership responsibilities.

  • Teaching teams across four schools who work collaboratively, sharing expertise and effective practice.

  • Exceptional professional development, coaching and mentoring.

  • Opportunities to develop your leadership skills and contribute to curriculum development within our ambitious federation.

What our staff say

“I’ve felt incredibly supported in developing my career across the Spirit Federation. I feel valued, well looked after, and proud to be part of something truly meaningful.” — Spirit Teacher
