Class Teacher EYFS job summary

Durrington All Saints Church of England Infant School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Classroom Teacher to join its vibrant team. This is a wonderful, part-time opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT, who is passionate about helping all children to flourish and succeed.

Contract: Fixed-term (until 23rd July 2027). Required: November 2026

We are a welcoming Infant school, educating children between the ages of 4 and 7 years. Situated in the heart of the charming village of Durrington, Wiltshire, we have strong relationships with the Junior School, All Saints Church and the local community. We are incredibly proud of our inclusive and adaptable approach to teaching and learning, which helps all our children to flourish and succeed. Within our Christian framework, we aim to foster the growth of our children both academically and spiritually; developing responsible, caring and happy individuals. We joined Acorn education Trust in May 2022, which provides exciting opportunities to improve local education, collaborate with schools and draw on collective experience. In June 2025, we were proud to, once again, be confirmed as a ‘good’ school by Ofsted.

The successful candidate will be familiar with the EYFS and KS1 curriculum and be able to teach across the full age and ability range within our school. We welcome applications from a team player, who is happy to collaborate and share ideas with other teachers.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is committed to becoming a truly excellent teacher;
  • Can teach a broad range of engaging and effective lessons that motivate, inspire and improve student attainment;
  • Can plan and deliver lessons and sequences of lessons to the highest standard that ensure real learning takes place and students make superior progress;
  • Is able to raise attainment and challenge students to achieve their best;
  • Has a commitment to extra-curricular activities;
  • Is aware of current initiatives in the EYFS and KS1;
  • Is an effective team member who can contribute positively to the work in our school;
  • Has a positive, cheerful outlook with a good sense of humour;
  • Is able to forge good relationships with students and staff;
  • Is able to work hard and remain calm under pressure;
  • Has a desire to work within the Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) structure.

We can offer the successful candidate:

  • An ambitious and vibrant place to work, with enthusiastic children and staff who are passionate about learning;
  • A workplace where everyone feels valued and supported;
  • Opportunities for training and progression;
  • The support of Acorn Education Trust, with excellent opportunities to work with experienced colleagues;
  • A supportive and clearly defined induction procedure.
