What skills and experience we're looking for

This is an exciting time to join the Race Leys Infant School family. Following our recent Ofsted inspection, where we were graded Expected across all areas and recognised as being strong in inclusion, we are building on this positive foundation as we develop our school. The position is available from 1st September 2026, on a 2-year fixed term contract in the first instance. We are seeking to employ a nurturing, enthusiastic and creative classroom practitionerto join our team to help all of our learners thrive. The successful candidate will:

  • Have a creative approach to teaching and learning that will inspire, challenge and motivate all learners to reach high levels of achievement.
  • Is, or has the potential and motivation to become, an outstanding practitioner.
  • Can offer proven good or outstanding practice in teaching and learning in the Foundation Stage or KS1.
  • Has high expectations of children’s behaviour.
  • Is willing to contribute positively to the life of the school and its community.
  • Is nurturing, enthusiastic and creative.
  • Embraces change and innovation positively.
  • Has excellent communication and organisation skills.
