What skills and experience we're looking for

Strong classroom practice, or the ability to demonstrate strong potential through training and placements

Experience of teaching in Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) or Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 and 6), or a strong interest in developing expertise in these phases

A secure understanding of how children learn, particularly in early reading, writing and/or preparing pupils for the end of Key Stage 2

Strong classroom practice, with the ability to create a structured, purposeful and inclusive learning environment

High expectations for all pupils and a commitment to securing strong progress and outcomes

The ability to adapt teaching effectively to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and disadvantaged pupils

Good understanding of assessment and how to use it to inform teaching

The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents

A reflective approach and commitment to ongoing professional development
