About the Role

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who loves working with young learners at this exciting and formative stage of their education?

We are seeking an inspirational Year 1 Class Teacher to join our warm, inclusive and ambitious school community at Greenacres Primary Academy. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact at a key transition point in children’s learning — helping them move confidently from the Early Years into Key Stage 1.

You will join a supportive, collaborative staff team who value professional learning, teamwork and a shared commitment to giving every child the very best start. Whether you are an ECT or an experienced teacher, you will be supported, developed and encouraged to grow.

Who You Are
We are looking for a teacher who will:
  • Put pupils first and secure strong outcomes for all learners

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a passion for high-quality teaching and learning

  • Have high expectations and inspire children to achieve their very best

  • Be reflective, resilient, optimistic and open to new ideas

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues

  • Enjoy working collaboratively and sharing best practice

You will be someone who believes in developing the whole child — academically, socially and emotionally — and who wants to prepare children with the confidence, curiosity and skills they need for the future.

What We Offer

At Greenacres, part of the Maritime Academy Trust, we believe that great schools are built on strong relationships, shared values and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Here’s what we offer:

  • High-quality CPD and development opportunities across the Trust

  • Fully supported induction for Early Career Teachers

  • Clear pathways for career progression and leadership development

  • Early salary access scheme

  • Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing support

  • Local Government Pension Scheme and national terms and conditions

As part of Maritime Academy Trust, you’ll also benefit from being part of a wider family of schools who share best practice, collaborate regularly and support one another to continually improve.

Ready to Make a Difference?

If you’re excited by the opportunity to inspire young learners, work within a caring and ambitious team, and help shape the future of our children — we would love to hear from you.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed — please contact the school office to arrange a visit.

We are always seeking innovative ways of engaging children in learning experiences that motivate and entice them to deepen their understanding and develop a lifelong love of learning. Our curriculum is thematic in approach engaging children, enabling knowledge acquisition whilst balanced with life and functional skills which span beyond the curriculum preparing our children for the next stage of their education. The 6Cs underpin everything we do: collaboration, communication, citizenship, character, critical thinking and creativity as we believe these are the attributes which will lead our children to longer term success. We embrace cognitive strategies which have been carefully adopted to enable our children to become self-regulated learners. We believe our role is to instil confidence in all; ensuring the creation of 21st Century learners.
