Join our ambitious and inclusive school community

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to make a real difference? The Grange Academy, a Junior School in Letchworth Garden City, is seeking a full-time KS2 Class Teacher to join our supportive and vibrant school community. This role will begin as soon as possible - ideally from 2nd November, or December 2026 depending on the candidate's availability. It is a two year contract, with the potential to become permanent.

The Grange Academy is part of the Agora Learning Partnership, a Multi Academy Trust specialising in primary schools across Hertfordshire.

At The Grange Academy, our motto is 'Learning for Life', which underpins everything we do. We focus on developing pupils' critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the skills necessary to adapt in an ever-changing world. Our curriculum is designed to not only foster academic success but also promote lifelong learning, responsibility, and ethical decision-making. We aim to equip our pupils with the confidence and resilience they need to thrive in the future, helping them grow into responsible, curious, and resourceful citizens.

Therapeutic Thinking shapes our relationships with students and ensures a positive, supportive learning environment. As part of the Agora Learning Partnership, we benefit from excellent school improvement support, including participation in Peer Reviews and collaboration with experienced schools across the Trust.

We prioritise the wellbeing of our staff, providing dedicated PPA time and protected time after school to ensure a healthy work-life balance.

About the role:

We are seeking a passionate, personable, and driven Teacher to join our friendly and forward-thinking school. In this role, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning in line with the school’s aims, enabling all children to make progress and achieve their full potential. You will manage the associated pastoral and administrative duties of the class and contribute to the wider responsibilities of the school as agreed with the Headteacher.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of individual pupils, considering their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development.
  • Assess and record pupils’ progress, using this information to inform your teaching and ensure all pupils are supported to achieve their targets.
  • Provide feedback to pupils on their work, both oral and written, and help them set and review goals for progress.
  • Collaborate with support staff such as teaching assistants, ensuring they are fully utilised to support learning in the classroom.
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour and promote a positive, safe learning environment.
  • Report on pupils’ development and progress to parents, colleagues, and external agencies as required.
  • Promote positive working relationships within the school community, fostering collaboration and mutual support.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including attending staff and team meetings and actively supporting school initiatives.

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and committed Class Teacher who:

  • Has a passion for teaching and a desire to see all pupils succeed.
  • Has strong communication skills and the ability to create a positive classroom environment.
  • Is able to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the overall success of the school.

What we offer:

  • Guaranteed PPA time each week to plan and prepare high-quality lessons.
  • Access to peer reviews, school improvement support, and personalised professional development through the Agora Learning Partnership.
  • A welcoming and collaborative staff environment with a focus on staff wellbeing, including protected time after school on several days each week.
