Do you want a job where you can inspire and make a difference to the lives of children? Would you like to join a ‘good’ school where teamwork is highly valued and ‘Leaders are determined for all pupils to reach their potential.’ Ofsted Jan 2022

If the answer is yes, then Ivy Lane Primary School is the place to be!

Ivy Lane School is a two-form entry Primary School in the centre of Chippenham, Wiltshire and is part of the Pickwick Academy Trust. We also have our on-site Sunflowers Nursery which accepts children from the age of 3 years old.

We believe in ‘Learning for Life’, aiming to equip every child with both the skills to be successful beyond their primary years and a life-long appetite for learning. The school community really is a special place to learn. Our Ofsted Jan 2022 recognised this; ‘Teamwork is central to the work at Ivy Lane to ensure pupils are educated and nurtured well.’

Our school values of ‘Learning, Environment, Others and Ourselves’ underpin our ethos. We place a huge importance on outdoor learning and are very lucky to have Forest Schools Provision. We also have an extensive provision of social and emotional support for our children.

We are looking for someone who shares our vision for primary education and our school values. Someone who is an aspirational teacher to join our Ivy Lane Family. The role will be class based in KS2 and would involve leading a wider curriculum subject.

The children, staff and governors welcome applications from prospective candidates who:

Are passionate about children's learning (and learning outside the classroom)

Are energetic, warm and caring

Combine a focus on raising standards whilst promoting pupil and staff well-being

  • Are creative teachers with experience in teaching KS2

Have high expectations of all children's progress and behaviour

Are able to lead a subject across the school

Have a positive and inclusive attitude

Can use technology to support learning

Are committed to working in partnership with parents to support the learning of all pupils

Are flexible, with a strong commitment to teamwork

Have great organisational, interpersonal and communication skills

Are keen to share and develop professionally as an outstanding, skilled teacher who demonstrates a potential for future leadership

Have an active life outside school and are prepared to share their interests with our pupils

In return Ivy Lane School can offer you:

A supportive team with a focus on high quality CPD

Enthusiastic and motivated children who enjoy school

A dedicated team of staff and governors

A commitment to further professional development

The opportunity to work collaboratively with other leaders within Pickwick Academy Trust schools

Visits to the school are strongly encouraged so you can get a flavour of our fabulous school! Please contact Mrs Kerry Nowosielski (Admin Officer) on 01249 652556 if you would like to arrange a visit.

Please refer to the job description and person specification for further information.
