What skills and experience we're looking for

Ravensthorpe CofE VC Junior School is delighted to invite applications from passionate and dedicated educators to join our thriving school community as a Teacher for pupils with Special Educational Needs. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to make a profound and lasting difference in the lives of children with a diverse range of learning difficulties and complex needs.

As a four-form entry primary school situated in the heart of an ethnically and religiously diverse community, we take immense pride in our inclusive ethos and the remarkable progress that every pupil makes during their time with us. Our excellent SATs results in recent years stand as testament to the dedication of our staff and the potential of our pupils. In our most recent Ofsted inspection (2023), we were graded Good, with inspectors noting: 'Pupils are safe and happy at this friendly, welcoming school. Their conduct is exemplary in lessons and around school.'

Ours is a highly inclusive Church of England school where spirituality underpins our values and culture. We are committed to providing a broad, balanced, and personalised curriculum that enables each child to reach their full potential. All of our pupils work towards our Christian vision: 'as we explore, experience and discover, we grow together in life in all its fullness'.

We are now seeking an exceptional individual who shares our passion for Special Educational Needs and is committed to upholding the highest standards of teaching and learning. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in building our SEND provision, working collaboratively with colleagues to innovate and develop practice that meets the evolving needs of our pupils. • Be enthusiastic about upholding our Christian values and fostering an inclusive ethos
  • Be willing to engage in ongoing professional development and contribute positively to a collaborative team culture
  • Demonstrate resilience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children with SEND
