SEND Class Teacher
The Sixth Form at Martin Bacon Academy, Northstowe
Salary: Meridian Trust Pay Scale/UPS with SEN allowance. FTE £31,650-£19,084 plus £2679.
Hours of Work: 100% of 1265 teacher working hours per year.
Due to expansion and growth of the school we have an exciting opportunity for new Class Teachers to join our fantastic SEND team. We are seeking candidates with experience in post 16 education and/or SEND or those starting their teaching career with a specialism in this area.
Opening in January 2025, The Sixth form, over time will offer 20 places to pupils aged 16-19. Pupils attending will engage in a functional and vocational curriculum, based in a building shared with Northstowe Secondary College, but also accessing learning opportunities in the community, for example travel training. The students learning will be accredited through OCR Life and Living Skills as well as access to English and Maths Functional Skills qualifications. They will be able to select option subjects alongside their mainstream peers and will be fully supported by specialist trained staff who are employed by MBA. Any additional Specialist provision, for example Hydro Therapy or Rebound Therapy, will be delivered at MBA.
