Qualifications and experience
- Qualified teacher status
- Degree
- Successful primary teaching experience
Skills and knowledge
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 National Curriculum
- Understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies appropriate for young children
- A strong understanding of how young children learn and develop
- Ability to adapt teaching to meet the diverse needs of all pupils, including those in early development stages
- Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with young pupils
- Knowledge of safeguarding requirements and a strong commitment to keeping children safe
- Understanding of effective behaviour management strategies suited to young children
- Good ICT skills, particularly in using technology to support early learning and engagement
Personal qualities
- A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils and promoting the ethos and values of the school
- High expectations for children’s attainment and progress
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
