What skills and experience we're looking for

At St Andrew’s, we believe that education is about more than lessons in a classroom -it’s about sparking curiosity, building confidence, and giving every child the best possible start in life and flourish in all they do.

This role would be particularly well-suited to an Early Career Teacher, who would receive strong support, mentoring and professional development opportunities within our experienced and collaborative team.

We are looking for someone who can nurture and inspire our children, foster a love of learning, and make a profound difference to their lives. We are immensely proud of our School Trust – we live our vision by working collectively as a family of schools with a shared responsibility for all children. By working as a Hub (alongside Gulworthy Academy, Lifton Community Academy and Lamerton C of E Academy) and as part of the wider School Trust, we empower each other to deliver an exceptional curriculum offer that is fully rooted in our Christian values.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a wider team of teachers not just in the West Devon Hub, but across the wider Trust who develop practice and share expertise for the benefit of all children. We value the diversity of skills and perspectives that every teacher brings and are committed to supporting a healthy life balance for all our colleagues. We’re happy to explore flexible working arrangements and discuss what that might look like for you.

What the school offers its staff

The Learning Academy Partnership has an exciting opportunity for a KS1 class teacher to join our School Trust, based in St Andrew’s C of E Academy.

Situated in the picturesque village of Buckland Monachorum, on the edge of Dartmoor, St Andrew’s takes the fullest advantage of our fantastic outdoor space. The local environment is very much part of the daily curriculum where a wealth of natural resources makes learning exciting and awe-inspiring for all children. Our aim is to foster a love of learning in our children by developing and building on their creativity and curiosity.

As a village school there is a real sense of community; we value the incredible relationships we have with our families and aim to ensure that all our children experience a rich and engaging curriculum that is that are grounded in our Christian values. Our vision is:

‘Learning together what is good and right’

Our School Trust is underpinned by our four core beliefs; we are stronger together, a sense of belonging; removing barriers and realising the possible. This means that by working collectively, we can achieve our absolute best to ensure that children, especially the most vulnerable, can flourish.

Our ethos is one of working together to Empower, Excel, Together.

What we can offer you:

  • Make a real difference–every day you’ll have the chance to make a profound difference to children’s lives.

  • Be part of something bigger–you will be part of a values-led School Trust where we collaborate, innovate, and succeed together.

  • We invest in you–our People Strategy ensures you’re nurtured, supported, and given opportunities to develop so you can provide the very best for our children.

  • Grow your expertise–access to our high-quality professional development, career pathways, and bespoke CPD; we’re committed to your personal and professional growth.

  • A genuine commitment to life balance– we prioritise colleague wellness and actively support a healthy, sustainable approach to work.

  • Flexibility that fits life – our family-friendly policies help you balance work with what matters most.
