Class Teacher - Key Stage 2 job summary
St Andrew's is a small school with a big heart, and we’re looking for a passionate classroom teacher to join our wonderful team. Our ideal start date is Easter 2025, although we will consider a September 2025 start. The role is fixed term to 31/08/2026 with a possibility to extend this should a permanent vacancy arise. We’re proud to have recently received a successful Ofsted report, reflecting the hard work and commitment of our staff and students.

- Is organised, proactive, and can effectively manage a classroom to create an engaging and positive learning environment.

- Is enthusiastic about being part of a school community that values creativity, inclusivity, and kindness.
As a school we are very careful around workload and wellbeing. We do this by:
- giving an extra full day of PPA release each term
- weekly release slot for subject leaders
- two-week half-term break for the long Autumn term
- make sure staff meetings are used so teachers can complete key tasks not add extra jobs to do later
- flexi-PPA time where possible
- minimal marking policy, using ‘in the moment verbal feedback’ as our core pedagogy
