About us
An amazing opportunity is available to join the brand new Tiffield Academy as an Apprentice Teacher. Tiffield Academy, an all-through special free school for autistic students who have severe learning difficulties (SLD) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SCLN) which opened its doors in September 2025 in a purpose-built new building and you could be an integral part of this. You will drive and deliver high quality teaching and learning in an environment which nurtures and supports our young people to achieve to their own, personal potential.
We’re looking for an exceptional teacher who:
has high aspirations for all the students in our care
is excited about providing the very best education for students with complex special educational needs and has experience of working with autistic students
is passionate about delivering an aspirational, thematic curriculum which is adapted to the needs of individuals and focuses on what’s really important
is creative, dedicated and passionate about keeping the young people at the centre of all we do
is able to collaborate with other members of the team to ensure the very best provision for our young people
can build positive relationships with staff, students and families alike
is able to demonstrate the values that underpin our approach to supporting our students to be kind, curious and ambitious
This role is suitable for both experienced professionals who wish to progress their career and ECTs who want to begin their career in a learning rich environment, both from mainstream and specialist settings.
About us:
Tiffield Academy will be the newest addition to the special academy portfolio within the very successful Greenwood Academies Trust. The academy opened its doors in September 2025 and will welcome up to 140 students in its first year and growing to 230 students over subsequent years.
The purpose-built new building has been designed with the students’ needs at the forefront of everyone’s thoughts with good sized classrooms, quiet spaces for group work and calming spaces as well as sensory rooms. There are dedicated rooms for Food Technology, Art and Science as well as workspaces for staff. Thought has been put into the exterior design too, including an outdoor games area, sensory garden and horticulture area planned.
