What skills and experience we're looking for
- Qualified teacher with experience in SEMH or specialist settings.
- Successful experience teaching Maths across a range of abilities, including pupils with significant SEMH and SEND needs.
- Experience leading or contributing to curriculum development, assessment or subject improvement.
- Demonstrable experience using data to track progress, identify gaps and inform targeted interventions.
- Strong understanding of Maths curriculum progression, adaptive teaching strategies, and small-step assessment models.
- Secure knowledge of SEMH needs, trauma-informed approaches, and how these impact learning, engagement, and behaviour.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present it clearly to different audiences.
- Understanding of data systems, progress tracking, and statutory/teacher assessment processes.
- Commitment to inclusive practice and improving life chances for vulnerable learners.
- Evidence of sustained professional development relevant to Maths, assessment or SEMH practice.
Additional training in trauma-informed practice, SEND or relational approaches.
