About the role and our school
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled teacher to join our delightful one-form entry village school as Year 6 class teacher, working in partnership with a job-share colleague. You will lead our oldest pupils through their final year of primary school, helping them finish strongly and move on to secondary school with confidence.
Ours is a school with a genuine buzz of achievement that threads through each day, whether from the enjoyment of learning, happy interactions or the excitement of meeting a challenge. We have an embedded ethic of determination and high expectations, so that children learn to tackle challenge and succeed with resilience and perseverance. We wrap this within a culture that respects individuals, promotes community and serves the common good, rooted in our Christian character.
Our Ofsted inspection in May 2026 was a strong endorsement of our work. Inspectors judged the school to be at a strong standard in four areas: attendance and behaviour, inclusion, leadership and governance, and personal development and wellbeing. Safeguarding standards were met. Inspectors found that:
- “Pupils thrive in this welcoming and inclusive school.”
- “Behaviour is orderly and purposeful across the school.”
- “A well-embedded culture of professional development runs through the school.”
- “Staff are positive about the school’s offer and leaders’ support.”
- “Reading is at the heart of the curriculum.”
We have the most fabulous team of staff, children, parents and governors, and we work together so that our children achieve excellence within a rich and rounded curriculum.

- Is an excellent class teacher with experience of, or a real enthusiasm for, upper Key Stage 2
- Has strong subject knowledge, including of the end of Key Stage 2 expectations in reading, writing and mathematics
- Will help embed our strengthened approach to writing, and share our focus on reading, oracy and quality discussion
- Adapts teaching carefully so that all pupils, including those with SEND, learn successfully alongside their peers
- Communicates and plans closely with a job-share partner so that pupils experience seamless, consistent teaching
- Fully aligns with our vision and values, so that everyone in our community belongs, believes, thrives and achieves, rooted within the Christian context of our school
- Prioritises positive relationships with children, families, colleagues and the professional agencies we work with
- Understands and shows compassion for children with adverse childhood experiences, and uses a restorative approach to developing positive behaviour
- Works on their own initiative and as part of a team, and is keen to develop their own practice and leadership potential
- Maintains professionalism, discretion and confidentiality at all times
- Brings commitment, reliability, positivity and enthusiasm
- This post is not suitable for Early Careers Teachers.
What we offer
