Part Time: 21 hours per week over 3 days (Preferably Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but can be discussed at interview).

Working Weeks: 39 weeks

This role will work across Queensway Infant Academy and Queensway Junior (Thetford, Norfolk, IP24 3DR and IP24 3DP).


Queensway Infant and Junior Academies are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Classroom Assistant and Breakfast Club worker to join our team.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • To support Year 6 pupils under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff.
  • To undertake care and learning programmes and activities to support individuals or groups of pupils, including more specialised support for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or EAL (English as an Additional Language).
  • To perform assessments and implement speech and language interventions.
  • To enable access to learning for pupils and assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
  • To work at our busy, successful breakfast club


About You:

You will be an inspirational practitioner and committed practitioner who is ready to join an ambitious team that lives and breaths the motto, ‘excellence, every child, every day.’ We’re looking for someone who shares this passion and will actively contribute to our school’s vision and values.


The role involves supporting children in the classroom and small group interventions to support children to make accelerated progress. You should be able to work effectively as part of a team, following the direction of the teachers, as well as working under your own initiative.


Essential:

  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age.
  • Experience of leading interventions to support learning.
  • Ability to use a range of relevant technology.


Desirable:

  • Experience of supporting children with high needs SEND and behaviour needs.
  • Experience of supporting children with EAL.
  • Experience of teaching RWI phonics scheme or systematic synthetic phonics (SSP).
  • Experience of delivering NELI interventions.
  • First Aid training.
