We are seeking to appoint committed and enthusiastic Classroom Support Assistants Level 2 from September 2026 to join our large and ambitious Academy. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils in achieving their full potential within a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Working under the direction of teaching staff and SENDCo, you will provide support for pupils both in lessons and through targeted interventions, helping to remove barriers to learning and promote positive outcomes for all.

You will have a crucial role as part of a team, who make our school a safe and happy place for every single one of our pupils and play a valuable part in shaping the lives of young people making sure Every Child matters.

Classroom Support Assistants need to build strong relationships, support behaviour management, and work collaboratively with staff to support pupil learning.

It is essential you have experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable) and;

- strong communication and interpersonal skills

- can work both independently and as part of a team

- are organised, adaptable and proactive in the classroom

Purpose of the Post

  • Under the teacher's clear guidance, in respect of their work with individuals or small groups, to support the education, personal and social development of pupils in the class including those with special educational needs and/or bilingual needs and to establish positive relationships with the pupils and assist them in completing structured learning activities. The role would be to ensure pupils remain on task and report progress to the teacher.
  • To contribute to the overall vision and ethos of the school ensuring the best standards possible for pupils and staff.
  • To be aware of and support differences and to ensure equal opportunities for all.

11-18 Mixed Academy 1534 on roll Rainhill High School is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form centre located in Rainhill, Merseyside, England. The school converted to an academy under Rainhill Learning Village in March 2017. More recently, the school has become part of the Stephenson MAT and was graded as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in February 2023. The Academy is working hard to make a difference to staff workloads by investing time, technology, and support to make Rainhill High School and Rainhill Sixth an attractive place to work.
