Classroom Support Staff job summary
Working closely with and supported by the class teacher and experienced Inclusion Leader, this role involves supporting pupils from The Orchard Centre as they access learning within their mainstream classrooms during the afternoon. You will work collaboratively with the class teacher and Centre Teacher to adapt learning activities, provide appropriate support, and help pupils achieve success in the classroom. The children have a variety of learning needs and are typically working below age-related expectations, requiring tailored support to access the curriculum effectively. The work may include a mixture of one to one and paired or small group work, both in and out of the Orchard Centre setting.
The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm (15 hours per week). These roles will initially be based within our Orchard Centre which is based in The Hermitage Junior School. Additional hours maybe available in The Hermitage Schools after-school club if these are desired.
For this post, applicants must demonstrate a positive, patient, and nurturing approach towards children, be confident, willing to work one to one and deal with challenging situations.
