Classroom Teacher job summary

Mayflower Community Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed Key Stage Two Teacher who will also provide high-quality PPA (Planning, Preparation and Assessment) cover across the school. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking team dedicated to delivering outstanding education for our pupils.

The successful candidate will:

  • Take responsibility for teaching within Key Stage Two
  • Deliver engaging, well-planned lessons that inspire and challenge all learners
  • Provide PPA cover across different year groups, ensuring continuity and high standards of teaching
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and pupil progress
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the academy

We are looking for candidates who:

  • A qualified teacher with experience in KS2
  • Has strong classroom management skills and a passion for inclusive education
  • Is flexible, adaptable, and confident teaching across a range of year groups
  • Demonstrates high expectations for pupil attainment and behaviour
  • Is committed to professional development and reflective practice
  • Works effectively as part of a team and communicates well with staff, pupils, and families
