Classroom Teacher - Forest School job summary

Location: Ladysmith Infant and Nursery School Exeter   

Contract Term: Permanent

Salary Grade: - MPS1 – MPS3

Hours: 3.5 hrs per week (One afternoon per week)

Ladysmith Infant and Nursery School are seeking to appoint a Forest school teacher who will be able to support our children with their learning.

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and inspiring person to be our Forest School Teacher, working in our fantastic, dedicated on-site woodland space. We are seeking someone to build upon the existing provision, who can create a learning environment where children can connect with nature through supported risk taking making the offering the very best for our students. The right person will be reliable, love working with children and have a passion for outdoor learning in all weathers!

 

Our children love their Forest School time. We are looking for someone who will create engaging learning opportunities that enable them to develop creativity, resilience, empathy and a love of the world around them. We want someone who places wellbeing as the foundation of their practice and recognises children’s different social, emotional and physical needs. You will be supported by leaders, staff and families, and have access to professional learning and the opportunity to grow with us as we plan ways to further develop our outdoor environment.

 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner
  • Is used to working in positive and proactive ways and collaborating with others to drive high expectations supporting the overall school improvement
  • Is creative and passionate about working with children
  • Will work effectively as part of a close team of staff
