Classroom Teacher (KS1) and English Leader job summary
Woodfield Primary School is seeking an exceptional Key Stage 1 Classroom Teacher with extensive English curriculum knowledge to take on the pivotal role ofEnglish Leader. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about early reading, writing and oracy, and who is ready to shape high-quality English provision across our school.
As English Leader, you will:
- Lead, develop and embed a high-quality English curriculum, firmly rooted in current research and best practice.
- Champion early reading, phonics, writing and spoken language, ensuring excellent progress and outcomes for all pupils.
- Work collaboratively with senior leaders and colleagues to support teaching and learning through coaching, modelling and professional development.
- Monitor standards through thoughtful assessment, scrutiny and observation, using these to inform improvement.
- Inspire pupils and staff with your passion for English and literacy.
You will also be an outstanding KS1 class teacher, delivering engaging, inclusive teaching that meets the needs of all learners.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is an experienced and highly effective KS1 teacher
- Has deep and secure knowledge of the English curriculum, particularly in early reading and writing
- Has experience of, or a strong aspiration towards, subject leadership
- Is enthusiastic, reflective and committed to continuous improvement
- Has high expectations for pupil achievement, behaviour and inclusion
- Is a strong team player with excellent communication skills
