Classroom Teacher job summary

Leiston is a 420 place school with a busy nursery. Currently judged by Ofsted as ‘Good’. We offer our children a wide range of opportunities. Leiston Primary School is a supportive and thriving environment working with pupils from a range of backgrounds. We constantly look at ways to develop and extend our practice to support our role as part of the community. We uphold a safeguarding ethos at the very heart of what we do and it forms our decisions on a day by day basis with the child’s voice being a key part of this. Our ideal candidate will work to ensure that children are taught to a high standard and respond to the day to day needs of the children as well as being a team player.

We are looking for a leader who:

• Is passionate about teaching and learning and is able to motivate and inspire pupils and colleagues.
• Is a positive and welcoming presence in the school and works effectively with all stakeholders.
• Has proven experience of subject leadership.
• Understands the importance of shared culture within a school and knows how to promote this for the benefit of all.
• Is an excellent class practitioner and is able to teach well structured lessons.
• Has high expectations in all areas of school life.
• Can adapt their teaching to respond to the needs of the class.
