Classroom Teacher - Primary job summary

We are looking to appoint a class teacher to join our Primary Section. There may be some flexibility in the key stage and therefore, we are open to recruiting a KS1 or KS2 specialist. We are happy to consider a full time or part time member of staff on a permanent basis. Our Primary Section is the most heavily oversubscribed school in Portsmouth with over 350 applications for 60 places in Year R and extensive waiting lists in all year groups. Consequently, the focus, behaviour and ethos of our pupils is excellent and parental engagement is extremely high. Equally, our results are well above national average and on an improving trajectory.

Commitment to safeguarding

Mayfield School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. New members of staff will be required to apply for Disclosure Service certification as part of the School's staff recruitment process. Under the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1075, applicants for teaching posts are among those who are not entitled to withhold information about any previous criminal conviction.
