Ark Castledown Primary Academy is a popular school in the heart of Hastings. Since transitioning to Ark in September 2017, the school has seen significant improvement in all areas. We have a dedicated staff team committed to providing the best possible education for our pupils.
We are seeking to appoint a well-organised Cleaner who is able to manage their own workload and ensure that high standards of presentation and cleanliness are maintained. You will need to be flexible in your approach and respond to the needs of the school with a positive, can-do attitude. You will be required to undertake compliance training, show a commitment to safe working practices and have a basic knowledge of health and safety.

The successful candidate will:
• have experience of cleaning, preferably in a school environment
• be hard working and have a flexible approach
• have an understanding of Health and Safety
• be able to take ownership of tasks and work with minimal supervision
• have the ability to follow relevant policies and procedures effectively
The closing date for applications is 09.00 22nd October 2026. Interviews will be held week commencing 26th October 2026.
Location: Hastings
Start date: ASAP
Contract: Permanent, TTO plus 7 days during school holidays
Hours: 13.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 3pm – 5.45pm
Salary: £24,482.00 pro rata
Actual pay: £8330.00
