Cleaner & Catering Assistant job summary
You may have experience in the cleaning or catering industry or have previously worked in a school environment but most importantly, you will enjoy working as part of a team and have great attention to detail. Typically, this role will involve working in the afternoon, however during periods of school closure there may be the opportunity for cleaning to take place during the day.
The role includes:
- Cleaning all surfaces, fixtures, fittings, floors, walls, partitions and internal woodwork as appropriate.
- Cleaning toilets, changing rooms and other sanitary areas.
- Cleaning equipment after use.
- Undertaking special cleaning programs during academy closure.
- Serve using the cashless till system, ensuring the area is kept clean at all times.
- Communicate effectively with staff and pupils at the school to ensure a quality service is maintained.
- Support the cleanliness and hygiene standards within the food hall and seating area.
- Adhere to the requirements of Level 2 award in Food safety and Hygiene at all times (training will be provided).
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene in the kitchen in accordance with domestic and catering standards
- Collecting and disposing of waste in appropriate manner
- Cleaning and maintaining waste bins
The post holder will be responsible to the Cleaning Supervisor and Kitchen Manager.
Please note the expected working hours for this post are 12:30 - 17:30 (with a 30 minute break each day).
