Cleaner job summary

The Site team as a whole are responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school. You will be responsible for an area of the school and be expected to clean to the frequency and standard set out at the direction of the Site Supervisor. This role would be to work between the hours of 11.30 am and 2.30pm (12.5 to 15 hours per week depending on flexibility / requirement), Monday to Friday during school term time only.

The key aspects of the role are:

General cleaning duties, as detailed in the site specification including:

Cleaning interior surfaces, furnishings, fixtures and fittings

Maintain the internal environment

Service toilet areas; clean all toilet appliances i.e. toilets, sinks etc. and replenish supplies ie. toilet rolls

To clear and remove rubbish and other items from areas as detailed by the site specification and ensure the security of all areas at completion of duties.

To maintain stocks of cleaning materials, order from Site Supervisor where required and to control the usage of materials ensuring the cleaning cupboard is kept tidy at all times.

To report any problems on site to the Site Supervisor so they may be rectified immediately.

To undertake any other reasonable duties/request commensurate with this position as designated by the Supervisor.

CHILDCARE (DISQUALIFCATION) (Applicable to Primary aged Schools)

In accordance with the Childcare Act 2006 and the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulation 2009 the Governors are required to obtain an additional staff disqualification declaration for employees within settings providing care for early years childcare (this covers the age range from birth until 1st September following a child’s fifth birthday i.e. up to and including reception age) or later years childcare (this covers children above reception age but who have not attained the age of 8) in nursery, primary or secondary school educational settings, or if when directly concerned with the management of such childcare related establishments. This declaration is to confirm that you are not disqualified ‘by association’ to anyone currently residing within your household who is disqualified under the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulation 2009
