Job Title: Cleaner
Location: Sidegate Primary School
Salary: ALT Grade A £9,093.27, Annually (Actual)
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours/Weeks: 15 hours per week, 42 weeks per year (38 weeks during term time, 4 weeks holiday clean)
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 3:15pm-6:15pm (flexible start times can be discussed at interview)
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Undertake cleaning duties which may include dusting, emptying bins, picking up litter, sweeping, washing, vacuuming, scrubbing, buffing, polishing, toilet cleaning in areas of the academy
- Undertake specialised cleaning programmes during the academy closures or other designated periods, as directed
- Assist in the preparation of rooms and appropriate work areas e.g. meeting rooms, classrooms

Sidegate is a vibrant three-form entry primary school in the north of Ipswich. The school hosts a 25 place Specialist Education Unit for pupils with moderate learning difficulties, giving approximately 655 pupils on roll. The school boasts large grounds, an indoor swimming pool, gymnasium and good ICT provision. We pride ourselves in the broad and engaging curriculum we offer our pupils; sport and culture
feature highly and are used to enhance the curriculum in all areas. The school received a “Good” Ofsted rating in October 2022. We were the first primary school in Suffolk to be awarded the prestigious Platinum Artsmark in November 2019; we also hold quality marks in RE, Science and Sport.
Sidegate became an academy in May 2014 with The Active Learning Trust (ALT). ALT encourages each of their schools to develop a curriculum that meets the needs of the pupils in the school. They work closely with the school, providing specialist advisory support as necessary. We work closely with other schools in the ALT Ipswich Hub and the Northgate Pyramid of Schools.
