Cleaner - Level 1 job summary

The St Bart's Multi Academy Trust, in partnership with Governors, staff and children of St Michael's Community Academy are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our hard working and committed team.

At St Michael's Community Academy our children come first. High expectations, mutual trust and respect are underpinned by a warm, supportive ethos. The successful candidate will be working alongside a team of caring, enthusiastic, dedicated staff, who are well-supported by their Senior Leadership Team.

Job Purpose

To undertake cleaning duties to maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the school, as directed.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Undertake cleaning of allocated areas in line with specified standards and as directed

Operate / use domestic and industrial cleaning equipment and materials, following appropriatetraining

Store allocated equipment and materials safely and securely

Perform duties in line with health and safety regulations (COSHH) and take action where hazardsare identified, report serious hazards to line manager immediately

Collect and dispose of waste

Refill and replace soap, towels and other materials

Undertake specialised cleaning programmes during school closures or other designated periods

Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within theacademy, raising any concerns following academy protocol/procedures

Any other duties appropriate to the post.

The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
