At Lift Broadlands, we're looking for a Cleaner to join our team and help us create safe, welcoming spaces where pupils can thrive. About Lift Schools
At Lift Schools, our mission is simple yet powerful: every child receives an excellent education, in every classroom, every day. How do we achieve this? By bringing together passionate people who care about creating the best environment for learning. We celebrate different backgrounds, ideas and experiences, and we believe everyone plays a key role in helping our pupils succeed. Could you be the person who helps shape a place where children love to learn?
About the role
As a Cleaner, you'll play a key part in keeping our school safe, clean and ready for learning. You'll work with our friendly team to make sure classrooms, offices and shared spaces meet the high standards our pupils and staff deserve. This role gives you the chance to take pride in your work and know that what you do matters.
Key responsibilities
- Clean, sweep, vacuum, polish and dust areas across the school to agreed standards
- Empty bins, replace hand towels, toilet rolls and soap, and keep spaces tidy
- Support deep cleaning projects during school breaks
- Use cleaning materials and equipment safely, following guidance and training
- Report any safety concerns, damage or stock needs to the School Operations Manager
- Complete records and take part in relevant training to keep your skills up to date
We are looking for someone who
You don't need years of experience-just a willingness to learn and a positive approach. We're looking for someone who can use their own initiative, work well with others, and take pride in keeping things clean and safe. Can you bring energy, reliability and a friendly attitude to your work? If you have some background in cleaning and using equipment, that's great-but if you're new to this, we'll support you with training.
You'll be comfortable with tasks that involve bending, lifting and stretching, and you'll be happy working in a role where you might occasionally be exposed to dirt or dust. Most importantly, you'll care about creating a place where children feel safe and ready to learn. Does that sound like you?
What we offer
- A chance to be part of a supportive, values-led team
- Full training to help you succeed in your role

At Lift Broadlands, our vision is to inspire our young people to set themselves aspirational goals based on their unique skills, talents and dreams.
As a small 11-16 secondary school that has been serving its local community since 1935, we cultivate a ‘family feel’ and sense of belonging among our students, and believe that nurture is essential for academic, personal and social success. We are an inclusive community which welcomes and celebrates students of all backgrounds and starting points, and which promotes diversity and fairness.
As well as cherishing and supporting our students, we believe in challenging them to achieve excellence in everything that they do. We have the highest of expectations of behaviour, and pledge that every classroom in our school will be a disruption-free learning environment. Similarly, we have aspirational academic goals for every student, and do not believe in placing a ceiling on what any young person can achieve. For this reason, our classes in Years 7, 8 and 9 are taught in mixed performance groupings, and we aim to challenge every student in every lesson. Where students need additional or different tools to reach our aspirational aims, these are provided by our expert teachers, who benefit from the guidance of our excellent SEN and pastoral teams. We are thrilled to be graded 'Good' across the board from our latest Ofsted inspection in 2023.
At Broadlands, we recognise the importance of building young people’s character as well as their academic success. We run a wide range of extra-curricular activities and clubs, and aim to enhance and deepen our students’ learning experiences with educational and cultural visits where possible. Our excellent Careers advice and strong links with employers and post-16 providers mean that we are able to prepare our students fully for their chosen pathways.
