About the role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our site team as a Cleaner/Site Support at our secondary school. This vital role helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Duties include general cleaning of classrooms, corridors, and communal areas, as well as supporting site operations such as setting up rooms, minor maintenance tasks and assisting with deliveries. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, be proactive, and work well both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out regular daily duties as required.
Act on cleaning requests sent through ‘iamcompliant’ helpdesk during the school day, pass on to cleaning company anything not possible to be completed during the evening shift
Moving furniture, setting out of chairs, delivering parcels and equipment around the school site, receiving deliveries and escorting trades people on the site.
Look out for maintenance and repairs around the School - e.g. a cracked window, graffiti on any surface, lights out, dirty diffusers, clocks wrong etc.
To complete various safety checks across the whole school, COSHH
To ensure that all hard surface areas and paths are kept free of litter, leaves, weeds and other debris at all times.
To ensure that adequate health & safety measures are taken at all times as required by current guidance and legislation.
To positively support the ethos of the school, taking into account our safeguarding, equal opportunities and behaviour policies in particular.
To uphold the positive image of the school in the local community in relationships with students, parents and all visitors to the school.
To take part in training for all aspects of your role as directed by your line manager.
To understand the need for confidentiality at all times.
To make sure the school site a secure and safe environment in line with the school’s Safeguarding policy.
