Cleaner job summary

Springwood High School are looking for Cleaners to join their dedicated and friendly site team. You will be resposnsible for cleaning a designated area of the school, as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor, in accordance with the practices and procedures of the school. 


  • Hours: 3hrs per day, 5 days per week. 3.30pm start
  • Part time: 38 weeks per year plus an additional 6 weeks during school holidays (Term time + 6)
  • Salary: Scale A, Pt 2, £12.26 /hour


Responsiblilites to include but not limited to:


  • To clean a designated area of the school to the standard laid down by the school. Cleaning tasks to include vacuuming, mopping, buffing, washing surfaces, removing graffiti and chewing gum and cleaning toilet areas
  • General cleaning tasks as required
  • To provide relief cover during times of staff absence
  • To periodically clean the store rooms in the designated areas and ensure the cleaning equipment is kept in clean and working order
  • Deep cleans during school closures
  • To be fully aware of, and comply with, all departmental instructions and procedures relating to Health and Safety at Work and to recognise the responsibilities required under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
