St Clement’s High School have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Catering Manager. The successful candidate would join a dedicated and ambitious Catering Department, providing supervision to other catering staff working within the kitchen and offer instruction on the correct uses of specialist technical equipment, presentation or any other area as appropriate.

Salary: Scale D, Point 5-6 approx £21,906 - £22,254

(£25,583 - £25,989 FTE please note that the salary will be pro rata)

Hours: 37hrs/week, 39 weeks/year (Term Time + 1 week)

Purpose of the Job but not limited to:


To prepare and cook a wide range of fresh seasonal food to serve on a daily basis.

Ensuring high standards, consistency of presentation, production amounts and portion control as per Trust menu.


As per West Norfolk Academies Trust food hygiene/HACCP systems, ensure full compliance throughout all food handling and storage with accurate recording of critical temperature controls and thawing and chilled lines as well as completion of cleaning rotas and checklists.


Provide a courteous standard of service and deal with any issues which arise within operation/opening hours.


Your principal place of work will be St Clement’s High School, but may be required to work within another catering department at one of the sites within West Norfolk Academies Trust.


The post holder will be able to judge if food standards are being met and communicate problems to the Chef.


The successful post holder will possess good interpersonal skills and be able to work harmoniously as part of a team. He/she will be helpful and polite when dealing with customers.
