Job Purpose To work under the

direction of the Senior Cleaner, Site Manager and/or Headteacher to undertake, individually or as part of a team, efficient and effective cleaning duties across the school site. This includes ensuring that classrooms, communal areas, offices, toilets and outdoor areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and safety, creating a welcoming environment for pupils, staff, parents and visitors.

Main Duties and responsibilities:

Carry out cleaning tasks as directed by the appropriate supervisor, including:

Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors.

Damp wiping and sanitising surfaces, furniture and equipment.

Cleaning and replenishing toilet and washroom facilities.

Emptying litter bins and disposing of waste safely.

Cleaning fixtures, fittings, doors, windows and internal glass.

Maintaining cleanliness in classrooms, corridors, offices, halls and staff areas.

Supporting the cleanliness of nursery and EYFS areas where applicable.

Reporting any maintenance, health and safety or safeguarding concerns to the appropriate member of staff.

Using cleaning equipment and machinery safely and effectively.

Ensuring the safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals in accordance with COSHH regulations, Health and Safety legislation and school policies.

Support to the School

Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children.

Be aware of and comply with school policies relating to safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, equality, confidentiality and data protection.

Contribute positively to the school's welcoming, nurturing and inclusive environment.

Attend relevant meetings and training as required.

Participate in professional development opportunities.

Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance (e.g. Keeping Children Safe in Education, Prevent) and our safeguarding and child protection policies

Promote the safeguarding of all pupils in the school

To undertake tasks of a similar nature and level, as directed by the Headteacher.
