Responsible to Cleaning Supervisor

Main Purpose of the role
Cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of the College site

Main Responsibilities


1. Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and vacuuming of classrooms and offices.


2. Cleaning toilets and wash basins, replacing toilets rolls and soap dispenser as necessary.


3. Empty waste bins and replace liners.


4. Maintain cleanliness of common areas and high-traffic areas.


5. Report any maintenance or repair issues to the supervisor.


6. Adhere to health and safety regulations.


7. Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be requested by management commensurate with the post.

All duties must be carried out in accordance with relevant Health and Safety legislation and good practice.

The post holder is required to work in accordance with both organisational and personal responsibilities for data protection as outlined in College policy documents.

Annual salary will be in accordance with Sixth Form Colleges’ Support Staff Pay Scale. Sixth Form College sector conditions of service apply, which are very similar to schools’ sector arrangements and salaries are reviewed by national negotiation with effect from 1st September each year. The pro rata salary quoted includes entitlement to twenty two days annual leave plus bank holidays and College statutory days.

College support staff are eligible to join the national Local Government Pension Scheme.
