Cleaning Assistant job summary

St Peter’s Collegiate Academy is seeking a committed and reliable Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors. This role is crucial in supporting the day-to-day operation of the Academy, contributing to a space where students can thrive academically and personally.
Working under the direction of senior staff, the Cleaner will be responsible for undertaking a range of cleaning duties across designated areas of the Academy. Tasks include mopping, sweeping, buffing, spray cleaning, suction cleaning, damp wiping, and waste disposal. The role also involves cleaning toilet facilities and fixtures, stripping and resealing hard floors, and ensuring the correct and safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with Health and Safety guidelines and COSHH regulations.
The Cleaner is expected to act in accordance with the Academy’s policies and uphold our values of Service, Respect, and Aspiration. This includes promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people, maintaining confidentiality, ensuring equal opportunities, and working collaboratively with other professionals within the Academy.
Beyond the physical responsibilities, the Cleaner plays a key role in the wider ethos of the Academy, supporting the creation of a learning environment that aligns with our Christian values. Applicants must be team-oriented, flexible, and show a positive attitude, demonstrating reliability and a strong work ethic.
