Salary: £25,614 FTE, £8,653 Actual Salary (12.5hrs), £13.28/hour
Hours of work: 12.5 hrs/week, Monday – Friday 6.00am – 8.30am
Contract: Permanent, All year round

We are seeking to appoint a reliable and dedicated Cleaning Assistant to join our cleaning team. Under the direction of the Site Manager, you will be required to undertake duties in accordance with cleaning schedules, ensuring the provision of clean and hygienic facilities for students, staff and visitors. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic person who is reliable and hardworking.
Highlands Primary School is a large primary school situated on North Bransholme. Part of Humber Education Trust, the school is rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and continually strives to improve further. We offer a happy, caring and safe environment where expectations are high and where learners are encouraged, challenged and supported to be the best they can be.
Applications are invited from experienced cleaners, although full training will be provided. A knowledge of COSHH and school experience would be advantageous but are not essential.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Daily classroom and shared area cleaning
• Mopping hard floors and vacuuming carpeted areas
• Damp wiping all furniture, fixtures and fittings, emptying bins
• Maintaining toilet / washroom cleanliness, including cleaning bodily fluids (PPE provided)
• Liaising with the Site Manager for larger seasonal projects
• To undertake relevant Health & Safety training
• To report any potential site issues to the Senior Site Facilities Officer/Chargehand Cleaner
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
• Have previous experience or a general knowledge of cleaning and cleaning methods
• Ability to manage time effectively to complete tasks to a high level
• Be organised and show initiative
• Be an excellent communicator and approachable to all staff and stakeholders
• Be able to work both independently and as part of a small cleaning team
• Have a flexible approach to meet the needs of the school and the community
• Take pride in a job well done

Highlands Primary School is situated on North Bransholme in Hull. It has 420 places for children in Reception – Year 6 as well as a 39FTE place nursery; it also provides funded places for 2-year-olds. Highlands Primary School is an outstanding school (Ofsted April 2012). It provides a happy welcoming, caring and safe environment where expectations are high and where learners are encouraged, challenged and supported to be the best they can be. Highlands converted to academy status in April 2013 and joined Humber Education Trust in September 2020.
