At Guiseley School we are committed to ensuring all students can reach their potential and we will continue to strive to ensure this is the case. It is our responsibility to provide an education that equips young people not only to succeed academically but that also gives them the confidence, skills and social awareness to go on to be involved and active 21st century citizens in their local community.

We do this by creating enjoyment of learning and excellent opportunities to get involved in a wide and varied curriculum. We have a clear dedication to academic excellence and engagement in traditional academic areas such as Science, Mathematics, English Humanities and MFL. But we also weave this into a curriculum that celebrates the Arts. We are delighted to be classified as an ‘Artsmark Platinum’ school that provides excellent opportunities in Drama, Art, and Music. We also ensure opportunities are varied in sports teams, academic societies and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

At Guiseley School, our attainment is consistently above national averages. Yet it is the provision of progression routes that is most important to us. The education, care, and guidance we provide ensure that our students secure places at university, college placements, apprenticeships or work with training. It is rare for a student to leave our school without knowing what their next steps will be.

Our core values are clear. We ensure our school is one where care is at the centre of what we do, we have the highest aspirations for ourselves and others. It is this environment that allows us to grow both in the classroom and beyond. These core values are crucial in ensuring our primary aim of success in all academic and personal aspects of a young person’s development at Guiseley School. This results in a student cohort that both want to and are able to learn, most clearly reflected in the comments from the Ofsted inspectors:
