Cleaning Supervisor job summary

Terms and ConditionsHours: 1:45pm - 5:45pm (4 hours a day)Days: Monday to Friday - term time only, including training daysWeeks paid: 45.4 weeks per year
Main duties and responsibilities:

• Undertake cleaning duties, in line with job description for a cleaner
• Organise the room/area allocations of a team of cleaning staff for day to day cleaning and holiday deep cleans, taking into account any absences and priorities
• Train all staff in how to clean all areas to a high standard using the right equipment and cleaning products (including refilling and stocking up of their areas).
• Supervise cleaning staff on a daily basis, including providing pastoral support if required
• Undertake regular inspections of all areas to assess standard of cleaning
• Maintain any records required by the Site Manager/Agent.
• Report to the Site Manager/Agent if cleaning is not up to standard so that this can be addressed formally with individuals.
• Ensure materials and equipment are stored appropriately after the clean.
• Keep the cleaning cupboard stocked up with a reasonable supply of all items (moving from the container as and when needed)
• Ensure all washing is complete
• Keep a record of all cleaning materials and regularly inform the Site Manager/Agent in good time to reorder to avoid shortages.
• To maintain confidentiality at all times in respect of school-related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential or sensitive information.
• To undertake any other duties of a similar level and responsibility as may be required.

Attitude/Motivation	Commitment to achieving high standards of cleanliness and hygiene Willingness to work additional hours when needed Willingness to be flexible Willingness to undertake training if required Trustworthy and reliable
Physical	Ability to undertake all physical aspects of the post (exposure to cleaning substances,carrying full bin bags, moving classroom furniture, standing on kick-steps to reach higher areas etc.) Ability to move and use domestic and industrial type cleaning equipment (polishers, vacuum cleaners etc.)
Other	To be able to get to or between any of the three Ivel Valley sites
