Clerical Assistant job summary
Thursfield Primary School is a vibrant one-and-a-half-form-entry school with a dedicated staff team and wonderful children. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Creative Learning Partnership Trust, working as part of a values-led organisation that places people and relationships at the heart of everything we do.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-organised Clerical Assistant to provide general administrative, clerical and financial support to the school. Working under the direction and guidance of senior staff, you will help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school office and provide a warm, professional welcome to parents, visitors and pupils.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent organisational and communication skills
- Is confident using IT systems and office applications
- Can work efficiently in a busy environment and prioritise tasks effectively
- Enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in high-quality administration

Key duties include:
- Undertaking reception duties, answering routine telephone and face-to-face enquiries, and welcoming visitors to the school
- Assisting with the organisation of school trips, events and activities
- Providing general clerical and administrative support, including photocopying, filing, emailing and responding to routine correspondence
- Maintaining manual and computerised records and supporting the use of the school’s management information systems
