Clerk to Governing Board job summary

We are seeking a highly organised, pro-active, self-motivated individual with a professional mindset and effective communication skills to provide full support to the Board of Governors. Throughout the academic year, applicants must be able to attend approximately 3 full Board meetings; 6 sub-Committee meetings; and other ad-hoc meetings and events as may reasonably be required.

The successful candidate will possess excellent organisation, communication and IT skills and outstanding literacy skills. They will also have the ability to work accurately, under time constraints and, occasionally, under pressure. In addition, they will have high levels of personal integrity and an ability to always maintain confidentiality. They will ensure the smooth running of meetings - preparing meeting agendas and papers; circulating them in advance of meetings; taking accurate minutes; advising Chair / Vice Chair / Governors on administrative / legal considerations where appropriate. They will provide full administrative support to the Board of Governors. There will also be a requirement for the successful candidate to undertake duties such as statutory documentary filings and maintenance of Governor details, with Companies House.
