What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive individual to serve as a Clerk to two local governing bodies (one primary school and one secondary school). As the Clerk, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the smooth operation of the local governing body's proceedings, ensuring adherence to regulatory protocols, and providing essential administrative support. Attendance at meetings can either be in person or the clerk may be remote and join the meeting via Teams/Zoom. Each school has six meeting a year, each no more than two hours long. Date and times to be mutually agreed.

Please note that there may be opportunities to Clerk for other schools within the CMAT, or be involved in one off clerking for things such as disciplinaries, grievance and exclusion panels (at agreed hourly rate). Support from an experienced governance lead will be in place and will assist with training and provide guidance as required. A clerks network meets three times a year online for relevant updates.

The Local Governing Body is a Committee of the St Thomas Aquinas CMAT and there is a scheme of delegation in place for the Local Governing Body.
