What skills and experience we're looking for
Key requirements:
- Experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
- Be able to take accurate minutes and produce well-presented minutes for distribution.
- Collate and distribute agendas and associated paperwork in advance of meetings.
- Provide procedural and legal advice and guidance after full training.
- Attend relevant training events and briefings organised by the Local Authority.
- Candidates should be competent in the use of MSWord, email and internet.
- A flexible approach, tact, diplomacy and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

The Clerk will be accountable to the Governing Board, providing professional clerking services to the Board and Finance Committee. You will be required to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills as well as good organisational skills.
Full Governing Board meetings are held 7 times per academic year for approximately 2 hours (19:00-21:00) with 3 Finance Committee Meetings per year for 2 hours (09:45-11:45). These are face to face meetings. Hours of work outside the meetings may be worked flexibly at home in order to undertake agenda preparation and production of minutes.
