College Mentor job summary

To provide support for the educational and personal needs of students, which ensures that they have equality of access to opportunities to learn and develop.

To address the needs of students who require assistance in overcoming barriers to learning.

To act as an integral part of the Academy staff team and to support all colleagues in maintaining and developing the ethos, values and expectations of the academy and support agreed Academy policy in all areas.

The role is centred on providing strong pastoral support to students, helping them to feel safe, valued and able to engage positively in school life. As part of the Mentor Team, the post-holder works closely with students who may face emotional, behavioural or personal challenges, building supportive relationships and helping to remove barriers to wellbeing and learning. The role involves monitoring student progress and welfare, contributing to individual support plans, liaising with staff and parents, and promoting a positive, inclusive ethos in line with academy values.

37 Hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Monday - Thursday 08:00am - 16:00pm & Friday 08:00am - 15:30pm
