Communication & Interaction Inclusion Lead job summary

Childwall Sports & Science Academy is seeking an experienced and passionate Communication & Interaction Inclusion Lead to drive high-quality SEND provision across our school/Trust.

This is a pivotal role, leading support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). You will work directly with students, support staff development, and strengthen inclusive practice to ensure all learners can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted, evidence-based interventions to support pupils with communication and interaction needs
  • Provide expert advice, assessment, and person-centred planning across schools
  • Train, coach and develop staff to improve inclusive classroom practice
  • Work collaboratively with SENDCos, senior leaders and external professionals
  • Build strong partnerships with families and multi-agency teams
  • Monitor impact, maintain high-quality records, and contribute to EHCP processes
  • Support Trust-wide SEND strategy and continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young people with ASC and SLCN in education settings
  • Strong ability to assess needs and deliver personalised interventions
  • Proven experience of training or coaching staff
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of SEND frameworks and inclusive practice
  • Commitment to improving outcomes for all learners

Relevant qualifications in SEND, autism, speech and language, or related fields are desirable.
